A new proprietor and chef is taking over the reins at a town restaurant, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Lee Scott received the keys to La Strada Trattoria, in Towcester, from previous owner Luigi Pezzotta, prior to a relaunch on Friday.
Mr Pezzotta, who is semi-retiring, said: “I’m confident that Lee will keep my customers happy and make a go of it here, bringing in new custom of his own.”
Mr Scott has renamed the Mediterranean bistro-style eaterie La Strada Nuova, which is Italian for New Road.
Italian-influenced in his cooking, Mr Scott moved with his wife, Sharon, and eight-year-old son, Taylor, up to Northampton from the Cotswolds while he worked until recently as executive chef at Silverstone.
Sharon, who will keep the books, is a florist and plans to showcase some of her flower arrangements in the glass conservatory-style premises.
Mr Scott attended catering college in Newcastle and spent three years in Brussels honing his pastry skills. He has been head chef for Gordon Ramsay at London’s Savoy Grill, a developing chef for Selfridges and run two restaurants near Royston.
He was head chef in the three AA rosette-winning restaurant at boutique hotel Cotswolds 88, in Painswick.
He said the style of La Strada Nuova will be: “Nice service, good food and a great atmosphere.”
