New plans for the new year from Big Society crew

Winslow’s Big Society Group is moving into the new year with a raft of ideas for new projects, many of which were suggested at October’s annual meeting.

Arrangements are already being made with Winslow Town Council for a Young Citizen of the Year award.

The group is also looking at ways of helping families with young children, and will be setting up a weekly drop-in session for parents and carers after the school drop-off.

The Big Society Group would also welcome more people to attend any of its existing sessions.

These include Gentle Walks on Wednesdays and monthly Friendship Lunches at Jennie Wren’s Tearoom.

Gentle Exercise and Relaxation classes resume at the St Laurence Room tomorrow, Friday.

There is a monthly Singing for Pleasure group at the St Laurence Room and Memories reminiscence sessions at the library.
