The Willen Hospice Furniture Store in Buckingham is to close in September.

But hospice chief executive Paul Hinson told the Advertiser the charity intends to keep a furniture store in Buckingham.

Mr Hinson said the five-year lease on the shop has come to an end and the charity’s business case dictates it must seek alternative premises.

He said: “The current lease agreement on the premises has meant that we need to re-consider the location of our furniture store, as good business practice for the hospice.

“But we hope this gives us an opportunity to provide a new, exciting retail outlet within Buckingham.”

Mr Hinson said the charity is currently looking for another outlet but it is important to find the right premises, with good access for deliveries and for customers.

He said: “The relationship between Willen Hospice and Buckingham is fantastic and always has been and my intention is for that to continue to grow.”

And he added that employees and volunteers will be offered the chance to work in Willen’s other shop on Bridge Street, Buckingham, which is shortly to be redecorated, or to relocate to another site.
