No nasty hospital food at Buckingham Hospital

Buckingham Hospital has been recognised for its high food standards by Aylesbury Vale District Council.

The hospital has been presented with an Elite Award, which recognises food businesses in north Bucks that have maintained consistently high food safety standards.

The council introduced the Scores on the Doors award scheme in March 2009 to acknowledge the food hygiene standards, including food preparation, safety processes and kitchen cleanliness of outlets that are inspected regularly.

Buckingham Hospital is one of only 34 premises in the Aylesbury Vale area that have achieved the Elite Award, which are given to catering premises ranging from restaurants and coffee shops, to schools and staff canteens that have achieved the maximum Scores on the Doors five-star rating at two or more consecutive food hygiene inspections.

Each business receives an Elite Award certificate and sticker to display on their premises to show customers they consistently reach the very highest food safety standards. Businesses will keep Elite Award status for as long as these standards are maintained.

Scores on the Doors is part of a national initiative that many local authorities across the country have signed up to. Ratings for food premises in other council areas can be viewed by going to
