TINGEWICK Scout Troop needs a new leader, as the flourishing troop’s present leader, Roger Williams, will be standing down at Christmas.

The role of a leader is open to anyone, male or female, over the age of 18, and the assistant leader is happy to continue to support a new Scout leader.

One way forward would be for the troop to form a leadership team of two or more new leaders who could share the responsibility and be supported by a small team to help with programme planning and administration. This has worked very successfully in other Scout troops.

With a view to trying and set this up, Tingewick Scout Troop are holding an open meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 6, at Tingewick Village Hall. Everyone is invited to come along and offer their suggestions and help. There is excellent support available for a new leader.

Tingewick Scouts meet on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm to 9pm.
