A BUCKINGHAM police officer will be swapping the road between Milton Keynes and Buckingham for the road covering the 14 bridges along the Thames in London on May 22.

PC Richard Davis will be taking part in the Thames Bridges Bike Ride to support a friend who suffered a stroke last year at the age of 44. The route covers 33 miles.

Speaking to the Advertiser and Review, PC Davis said his friend wanted to raise money for the Stroke Association for all the support he had received while recovering.

He said: “He decided to embark on the ride and having not been on a bike for some time, wanted some support from someone and knowing I was back on the bike regularly, he approached me.

“I have gladly given my support.”

PC Davis is a keen cyclist and regularly cycles from his home in Milton Keynes to his work at Buckingham Police Station.

The ride goes from Southwark Park and ends up at Hurst Park.
