MAKING the community a safer place is the stated aim of the local neighbourhood policing team, and PCSO John Webb is pictured above heading up an initiative he started last week in Steeple Claydon to support vulnerable residents.
Along with volunteers Richard Dobbs and Steve Roads, PCSO Webb gave up his own time to help make an elderly person safer in their home. The team cut back overgrown trees and shrubs in the front garden, to give neighbours a better line of sight to the front door.
PCSO Webb said: “Neighbours can now help keep an eye on each other and be much more aware of any suspicious persons approaching the house.”
He thanked the volunteers, and the Faccenda family who allowed them to dump the cuttings on their land.
PCSO Webb may be able to offer the service to other vulnerable people in the area. Call him on 0845 8 505 505.
