Co-op officially opened its new, bigger, food store in Winslow on Friday, April 16, following a six-figure investment to extend the High Street premises.

At 2,500sq ft, the store is more than double its previous size.

The new-look store, which supports 11 local jobs, now includes a Costa coffee express, bakery, and a free-to-use ATM alongside an increased product range.

The store now offers self-service tills and compostable carrier bags as a more sustainable alternative to single-use plastic bags.

Manager Abdul Wahid said: “We have had a great response. We are extremely proud to have opened a new-look, more spacious High Street store – it has a fantastic fresh new look.

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to carry out such a significant investment in Winslow, and we have worked to develop the range, choice, products and services locally that will create a really compelling offer to serve the community.

“Co-op is committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally and so we would also want customers to know that they can become a member of the Co-op. Co-op donates 2p in every £1 to community causes every time a member swipes their membership card when buying own-branded products – so by shopping at the Co-op our members are also helping to make good things happen in the community.”
