Pheobe wins big with a jig at competition

A talented sixth former who trains at the Buckingham Youth Centre has won big in an Irish dance contest.

Pheobe Cummins, who attends the Mary Drake School of Irish Dancing at the centre, and studies at the Royal Latin School, competed in the Irish Dancing World Championships [An Comhdhail Na Muinteoiri Le Rinci Gaelacha Teoranta] in Killarney, Ireland last week.

Phoebe was placed third out of 79 in the Under 18 solo slip jig category.

In excess of 3,000 competed over a full week with dancers from all over the world.
