Pilot killed after light aircraft crash on Bucks-Northants border

A pilot has been killed in a light aircraft crash at Turweston Aerodrome on the Buckinghamshire-Northamptonshire border, police have confirmed.

Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly before 11.30am but the man was already dead.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch is sending a team to investigate the incident.

Thames Valley Police confirmed a man has died in the incident near Brackley.

Police say the death is not believed to be suspicious.

Turweston Aerodrome is described as a ‘general aviation aerodrome ideally located in the centre of the UK in the heart of ‘Motorsport Valley’ on it’s official website.

The aerodrome is close to the Silverstone Circuit and offers a range of aircraft services.
