ARMED RESPONSE: Armed police officers were called to a village near Brackley last weekend after a man threatened to kill himself .

At around 10pm on Saturday, March 31, Northants police were called to a home in Evenley.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: “At about 10 o’clock on Saturday night we had to deal with a domestic incident in the village which resulted in a 47-year-old local man threatening to harm himself with a shotgun.

“The man had a firearms licence and there was no wider risk. However, it did require an armed response which would have been noticed with in the village. There were no shots fired.

“The man was not detained as there were no offences to disclose.”
