Police search woodland for missing Natalie

Police officers and sniffer dogs are combing woodland today (Wednesday, May 11) in connection with the Natalie Hemming murder investigation.

Specialist teams and dogs are searching Salden Wood near Newton Longville, Milton Keynes, as well as a nearby disused railway line.

Det Supt Chris Ward, head of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime unit, said: “Today’s search activity is an important part of the ongoing investigation as our priority remains to find Natalie.

“It is vital that members of the public come forward if they have any information about where Natalie may be or any details which could assist the investigation.

“This has, very sadly, become a murder investigation and detectives will be making ongoing enquiries in relation to it.

“Our work is likely to continue for some time and searches are expected to take place across county borders.

“We would like to thank the community in these areas for their understanding in relation to this.

People who see this activity should not be concerned however can approach and speak to police officers if they would like to raise any issues.”

Natalie Hemming, 31, was last seen at around 3pm on Sunday, May 1, in Hemel Hempstead. The mother-of-three was reported missing from her home in Alderney Avenue, Newton Leys, on Tuesday, May 3.

Officers are also continuing to appeal to the public for information about the movements of a car which may be connected with Natalie’s disappearance.

The car, which police have found, is a Black Ford S-Max Titan X Sport, registration EJ12 UWG.

The vehicle is believed to have travelled on the A413, the A418 and the A41 around Aylesbury, between 9.45pm on Sunday, May 1 and 12.45am on Monday, May 2.

If anyone saw this vehicle during this time, either travelling or parked somewhere, they should call police as soon as possible.

Anyone with any information which could assist the investigation should call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101, quoting URN 1478 4/5.
