An appeal against refusal to grant planning permission for 80 new homes on Moreton Road, in Buckingham has become a public inquiry.

An inspector appointed by the secretary of state will be conducting the inquiry on a date to be decided.

Bellway Homes were refused planning permission by Aylesbury Vale District Council to build 80 homes next to the existing housing development near Maids Moreton.

The developers have launched an appeal against the decision, which has now been escalated into a public inquiry.

Among its grounds for appeal, Bellway is claiming increased traffic is not an issue.

Interested parties now have until September 12 to submit their comments to the inspector instead of August 21 and anyone who has already sent in their comments does not need to resubmit them.

Comments must be made in writing and sent to the Planning Inspectorate, Room 3/26, Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PM or online at
