18 Bucks Council chief executives earn salaries in excess of £100,000

The annual Town Hall Rich List, produced by the TaxPayers’ Alliance pressure group, found at least 2,802 people employed by local authorities in 2019/20 received more than £100,000 in total remuneration, an increase of 135 on 2018/19 figures.

Figures revealed this week show that almost 2,500 local authority fat cats earn more than £100,000-a-year - some receiving more than a quarter of a million pounds.

And the picture is no different in Buckinghamshire, with 18 local authority workers pocketing more than £100,000 a year.

Top of that list is Rachael Shimmin, Chief Executive of the Buckinghamshire Council takes home a whopping £223,909.

Second in the list is G Quinton, Executive director (CHASC) who takes home a salary of £174,681.

Here's how the rest of the named staff ranked:

S Ashmead, another Executive Director is paid £174,850.

A Vouyioukas, Executive Director of Buckinghamshire's children services is paid £164,300.

R Ambrose, Director of finance & procurement (S151 Officer) is paid £122,701

J O'Grady, the Director of public health is paid £125,807.

Further to this, there were TWELVE other executive officers earning over £100,000.

The UK's highest local authority wage was for Roger Parkin, who earned £595,077 at Slough Council
