A teenager with a rare form of cancer has been treated to an amazing VIP weekend, thanks to a children’s charity.
Chase Howie, aged 17, from Buckingham, was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma when she was 16.
Despite nine gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and surgery, towards the end of last year Chase and her family were given the devastating news that she had relapsed.
When Starlight Children’s Foundation offered to grant her wish of a lifetime, Chase chose a VIP London weekend.
Chase, her mum and dad, Mandy and Steve, 11-year-old brother Morgan and boyfriend Kiral Bhajun were picked up by their personal driver on the Saturday and driven to the glitzy Chesterfield Mayfair hotel – where Chase’s room was festooned with balloons and chocolates.
Over the weekend, the family took in treats including the Sea Life Centre, Planet Hollywood, Choccywoccydoodah, Winter Wonderland and Cirque Berzerk.
On Monday, Starlight arranged a luxurious VIP experience at Harrods for Chase, where she was given a MAC makeover and her own personal shopper to help her pick out some key items. At the end of her visit, Harrods gave Chase a goody bag stuffed with premium beauty products.
The weekend ended with a meal at Babylon Restaurant at the Kensington Roof Gardens.
Chase said: “I had an amazing weekend. I never thought I would feel so special. Everyone was so kind and I am truly thankful.”
