A NEW community centre for Towcester came another step closure last weekend when more than 80 people gave their thoughts on the proposals by the Tove Valley Baptists.

They want to build a centre with a 260 to 280 seat auditorium with staging, lighting and sound systems near The Shires Estate. The centre would also offer play group facilities, meeting rooms, and a cafeteria.

Project manager Lee Hillyard said the exhibition of the plans at Towcester Town Hall last weekend generated lots positive feedback and added: “It was great that the event was so well attended.

“As a church, we really want to be able to reach out to our community and provide the services that are needed along with the space to carry them out.”

Building is expected to start next autumn, Visit www.ToveValleyCentre.co.uk for details.
