Customers of The George pub, in Winslow, have helped raise £1,870 for Helen and Douglas House hospice for children and young people in the past year.

On Tuesday, landlady Louise Brown and her fundraising volunteers Zoe Bradford, Sarah Cordes, Emily Wass and Rosie Dudley presented a cheque to Peter West, volunteer fundraiser for the Oxford-based hospice.

The money has been raised from events including quiz nights, auction nights, an adults-only onesie party, a Halloween fancy dress party and a Mad Hatter’s beer party supported by Winslow-based five-piece band The Eclectics.

Landlady Louise Brown said: “I’m really chuffed for the hospice. I’ve been here 23 months this month and in total it’s over £3,500 we’ve managed to raise for them .”
