RAF Croughton mobilised during barn fire

A BARN fire in a village north of Brackley saw the mobilisation of fire crews from RAF Croughton and Towcester.

A spokesman for Northants Fire and Rescue Service said people in the villages of Wardington and Edgcott were given precautionary advice to stay in doors and close windows and doors to avoid inhaling smoke from the fire at Wardington Gate Farm.

The fire took place on Thursday, December 23 and saw around 60 fire fighters tackle a fire involving two dutch barns, one which contained around 200 tons of straw and the second which contained around 200 tons of fertilizer.

Farm animals were evacuated and no injuries were reported .
