Red tape to be cut so business can work better with council

How to make it easier for the public and private sectors to work together will be discussed during the Northants County Council cabinet meeting next week.

NCC hope change the situation where a lack of growth hamstrings public infrastructure investment and vis a versa.

As a result NCC plans to cut the red tape surrounding capital projects so that the private and public sector can work together to unlock funding as well as attracting new investment.

NCC leader Jim Harker said: “All parties involved, both from the public and private sectors, have the same goal, which is to see economic growth. Therefore it makes sense to work together towards this mutual objective.”

As well at the Government funding could come from developer contributions, the Community Infrastructure Levy and the New Homes Bonus.
