PARENTS in South Northants wanting to reduce waste while getting their children ready for the next school year can visit the ‘Back to School Buy Recycled’ roadshow in Northampton this month.

The series of roadshows, organised by Northants County Council, the Northants Waste Education Team, and the district authorities, will offer information on where to buy recycled school stationery, clothing and bags. They will also provide advice for schools interested in how they can reduce the waste they create.

Young people who attend can enter a competition to win a recycled bag with recycled stationery.

The road shows will be at: Asda supermarket, off Northfield Avenue, Kettering, on Tuesday, August 7, from 10am and 3pm, Morrisons supermarket, Oxford Street, Wellingborough, on Friday, August 10, from 10am to 3pm, and Abington Street in Northampton on Thursday, August 23, from 10am to 3pm.

Councillor Chris Miller, chairman of the Partnership, said: “We will have information on how to reduce, reuse and recycle at schools for those wanting some handy recycling hints, and I would encourage mums and dads to pay a visit and see what recycling tips they can pick up before the new term starts.”
