Santander has donated £82,500 in bursaries and internships to the University of Buckingham, some of which will be used to form partnerships with local companies.
The three year agreement amounts to £25,000 per year, with an additional £7,500 to support internships in the first year.
The five internships will be available to students or recent graduates of the university and will enable them to work in a small or medium sized business. The money will also be used for students to take part in international exchange and entrepreneurial activities where Santander has higher education partners.
The funding will also allow postgraduate students to study abroad or be used for travel bursaries.
The agreement was signed by University of Buckingham vice-chancellor Professor Terence Kealey, and Luis Juste, director of Santander Universities UK on Thursday last week.
Professor Kealey said: “The University of Buckingham is delighted to join Santander Group’s network of universities, as we welcome the group’s sponsorship of study and career opportunities for students and staff.”
