Rewarded for services to food industry

A FORMER Tingewick girl has been awarded an MBE.

Pastry chef and author Claire Clark, aged 47, received the honour for services to the food industry.#

Her father, Rev David Hemsley was vicar in Tigewick and she attended the village primary school, Page Hill Middle School and Waddesdon C of E School.

Claire, who is a consultant to the food industry, told the Advertiser the award came as a big surprise.

She said: “I’m a bit overwhelmed really. I don’t think it’s really sunk in.

“I’m absolutely delighted and thrilled and I’m glad to be recognised.

“I love what I do. The pastry part of kitchens is a dying art so I’m very busy.

Claire, who now divides her time between Buckingham and London, is currently working a a second book and filming a TV programme on chocolate.
