Romance is in the air, as two experienced music groups come together for a night of classic romantic favourites.
Sherwood Chorale Society, an adult community choir that gives low-cost performances to attract more people to the joys of singing, have been singing together for 40 years.
Heartstrings are a community orchestra encouraging adults to take up their string instruments again.
Together, they are performing in Buckingham for the first time on Friday, February 27, at 7.30pm at The Radcliffe Centre.
In the spirit of St Valentine, the two groups are intending to bring to life one of the most prolific periods in music history, the ‘Romantics’.
Brahms, Parry, Schubert, and Rachmaninov are household names, reflecting our deepest emotions through their wonderful harmonies and sensitive melodies.
The groups will be performing vocal, orchestral and solo items.
They will include well-known romantic works such as as Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody, Chopin’s Nocturne, and Franck’s Panis Angelicus.
If you have ever considered joining a choir or a music group, why not go along and see what’s like?
