RSPCA rescue elderly lurcher found tied to a gate

A LURCHER dog found tied to a field gate in Nash is being cared for at the RSPCA’s Blackberry Farm animal centre in Quainton.

The lurcher, who has been named Valerie, was found tied to a gate in Thornborough Road by a member of the public at about noon on Friday, June 29.

She was collected by RSPCA inspector Kirsty Withnall.

Insp Withnall said: “This poor dog appears to have just been dumped and left alone by whoever had previously owned her.

“It is always very sad when we discover an animal that has been abandoned.

“As a charity, we are committed to helping as many animals as possible and any information regarding this dog would be greatly appreciated.

“She is an older dog and is brindle in colour. She was in good bodily condition and was tied with a red and blue rope.

“She was not microchipped.

Anyone with information should call the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.

Valerie should be available for rehoming at a later date. To find out more, contact the centre on 0300 123 0752.
