Children were given first hand experience of the meaning of marriage when All Saints Primary School in Croughton conducted a mock wedding this week.
The mother of the bride supplied something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue, while the groom had the last minute jitters.
The children took part in the ceremony after learning about Jewish, Muslim and Hindu marriage traditions.
RE teacher Helen Goulder said: “A lot of what they know comes from books or the internet so this brings RE alive and starts to give it real meaning for the children.
“And it is so important for them to experience things first hand because experience gives them understanding.”
