BICESTER scouts have taken in a glacier walk, whale watching and a hot springs dip as part of a nine-day excursion to Iceland.

Members of the 7th Bicester Scout Group had planned the trip for 18 months and had raised money with events such as a promises auction, car washes and a tombola at the Christmas lights switch-on.

Other activities at the recent summer camp included caving, ice climbing and white water rafting.

Group members thanked local businesses including Bicester Avenue and Sainsbury’s in Kidlington for their contributions towards the trip, as well as Bicester Town Council.

The 7th Bicester Scouts meet on Friday evenings in the Methodist Church Hall in Sheep Street. Details are available on the group’s website
