Second man sought after racist assault in Towcester

A MAN has been arrested in Towcester on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault.

Sometime between 9.30pm and 10pm on Saturday, August 20, two men approached the victim outside his shop in Watling Street.

One of the men spoke to the shop keeper then the other punched him, shouted racial abuse and chased him down the street.

One of the suspects has been arrested and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: “Officers believe a number of people witnessed the incident and we are appealing for these people to come forward, anonymously if they prefer.”
