Silverstone Auctions achieved an all-time record sale total of more than £2.7million at the NEC Classic Motor Show last weekend, raising £1,500 for Children in Need in the process.
An iconic silver birch coloured 1965 Aston Martin DB5 saloon, which fetched just over £360,000, was the star of the show.
Other British classics such as a Lister Jaguar XJS 7.0 litre Le Mans Coupe, a 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster and an Aston Martin, 1958 Aston Martin DB2/4 MKIII, claimed a combined total of more than £365,000.
Also on offer was a 1970 IKA Tornio 380S, formerly owned by motor racing legend Juan Manuel Fangio, which fetched £28,175,
Managing director Nick Whale said: “I’m absolutely thrilled by these fantastic results which have helped us to a new record.
“We worked extremely hard to put together arguably our best ever catalogue, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to achieve such excellent prices for so many of our vendors.”
Silverstone Auctions’ Race Retro & Classic Car sale will be at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire on February 22.
