Roger Riddell, aged 66, from Sandhill, near Middle Claydon, and his daughter Becky passed through Winslow, Arizona, on Monday on their coast-to-coast USA cycle ride.

The town achieved fame in the 1972 Eagles song Take It Easy, which includes the line “Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona”.

After setting out from Los Angeles on the west coast on May 11, the Riddells have now cycled 800 miles of their 3,400-mile journey to Boston on the east coast, which they aim to reach on June 29.

They have already crossed a desert through 46o heat and climbed to over 7,000ft.

They are cycling to raise funds for the mental health charity, Mind.
