A step in the right direction as Bucks first ever '˜business games' launched
LEAP, the sports and activity partnership for Bucks and Milton Keynes is holding the first ever Bucks Business Games this summer.
Staff from workplaces across the county are being challenged to form teams to enter the new event, which is being held in July in Milton Keynes.
Companies will compete against each other in friendly tests of brain power, ingenuity and physical ability.
Businesses are being asked to enter mixed-sex teams of six people who will be guided around a number of zones, from school sports day fun to inflatable challenges.
The aim of the event is to give companies an opportunity to provide team-building experiences that will help improve their employees’ health and well-being.
Project manager at LEAP Sarah Simmons said: “This is a great chance to build team morale in a fun and exciting way.
“Workers often spend their days together in offices without ever really getting to know each other.
“The idea is that we encourage them to come together as a team to socialise and be active at the same time.
“We know that employees who keep active are more productive.
“More productive staff who work well together mean better business.”
The first ever business games are being held on Friday July 14 from 2pm to 7.30pm at Woughton Playing Fields in Milton Keynes.
The cost of entering the games is £200 per team of six.
A barbecue, company t-shirts and soft refreshments are all included and there is a drinks reception for senior managers.
LEAP is a county sports partnership and offers opportunities for people to coach, lead or volunteer in sport and other activities.
They annually organise a fun sports participation event for schools called The School Games.
