The committee of the Buckingham Summer Festival are putting on a Christmas Concert in the Radcliffe Centre at 7.30pm on Friday, December 13.

The programme of festive Christmas music will include the stunningly beautiful Cantata Pastorale Per La Nativita by Scarlatti for soprano and strings

The work is a poetic evocation of Christmas by one of Vivaldi’s contemporaries.

It will be performed by members of the Orchestra of Stowe Opera conducted by Robert Secret, and sung by the up-and-coming young soprano Anna Sideris.

The concert will also feature string music by Corelli, Vivaldi and Manfredini, as well as Handel’s haunting He Shall Feed His Flock, from the Messiah.

Tickets are £15, to include a glass of wine.

They are available from the Tourist Information Centre at Buckingham’s Old Gaol, online at or from the festival office by calling 01280 813834.
