Teachers’ strike: schools affected

Seven schools in the Advertiser and Review region are partially closed today due to strike action taken by members of the National Union of Teachers.

Teachers are taking industrial action over Government plans to increase their retirement age to 68, make changes to the pension package and introduce performance related pay.

Helmdon Primary School is closed to all but year six students who will attend school until 12.45pm.

The Buckingham School and St James and St John CE Primary School in Chackmore are both partially closed today.

Langford Community Primary School is closed to all pupils except one Key Stage One class and one Key Stage Two.

The North Oxford Academy, based in Banbury and Bicester, is open to year 11, 12 and 13 students only.

St Edburgs CE School, in Bicester, will only be teaching pupils in years 2, 3, 4, and 6 today.
