A 16-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital last weekend after she fell from her horse near Brackley.

The patient landed on a footpath on Saturday morning between Brackley and Halse.

Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) were called out to the incident.

WNAA took off from their base at Coventry Airport at 12:06pm and landed at the tricky location 13 minutes later.

The patient was treated for chest, pelvic and spinal injuries by a WNAA doctor and paramedic.

She was immobilised, given much needed pain relief and then airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.

She was stable throughout the flight and on the handover to hospital staff.
