YOUNG film makers from Brackley have been shortlisted in the county’s most prestigious film competition.

Members of the Brackley Film Club have created the one minute 13 second spoof advert called Zombie Gun which promotes a kit which will help convert a toy gun into a deadly zombie killing machine.

The short film festival received almost 50 entries from film-makers across the county competing to win a place at the red carpet awards ceremony at Cineworld, Northampton on Monday September 19.

The screening will feature six films from the Under 16s category and six films from the Adult category. Winners of each category will be announced on the night and will receive prizes including a day’s use of a professional film studio, a film school placement, cinema tickets and movie merchandise.

Judge and former Film Northants winner, Stacey Swift, said: “I can say without exaggeration that the calibre of this year’s films has been outstanding. This is true both of their creative conception as well as their technical execution.

“Selecting the finalists caused some lengthy debate amongst the judges, I think this year’s Cannes jury had an easier time than us when it came to picking finalists.”
