A developer is being sought to build a two-storey pavilion, synthetic pitch, floodlighting and car park as a £3.3 million sports village enters phase two.
Bicester Sports Village is due to open at the South West Bicester Kingsmere development in autumn 2015 and the tendering process to appoint a contractor to deliver its second phase has now begun.
George Reynolds, deputy leader for Cherwell District Council, thinks the project will benefit the town’s future generations and he hopes a developer from within the region can be chosen.
He said: “The tendering process will offer a great opportunity for developers to come forward and really show what they can do by delivering a lasting project that Bicester can be proud of.
“We look forward to receiving submissions and appointing a contractor so work can begin on the next stage of this momentous project.”
