TOWCESTER’S 10th Midsummer Music Festival will have a Scottish twist this year with a ceilidh in the Town Hall on Saturday evening.

This year there are 11 venues, all with in walking distance of Market Place, and the main Saturday festival will once again be preceded tonight, Friday, June 18, by a concert by the Towcester Rock School in the town hall. There will also be non-stop music at the Plough Inn. Admission will be by programme or £3 on the night.

On Saturday Mayor David Linney will officially open the festival at 7.15pm from the Town Hall steps. However several venues plan to start before that. The music will continue until 10 or 11pm depending on the venue and many of them will be serving food and drink.

Programmes cost £18 for a family, £7 for adults, with a £5 concession, and they are available at Colemans, The Dolphin, Towcester Tea Rooms, The Plough, The Bull, The Saracen’s Head and Jackie’s Pre-loved Clothes.
