Men who are interested in joining a new Men In Sheds group are invited to an information event next month.

Men In Sheds provides a place where men of all ages can turn up and take part in activities similar to what they might do in their own garden shed but with the the company of other like-minded men.

A typical ‘shed’ could provide woodwork, metalwork or electronics tools and equipment.

Members can develop interests and get involved in productive activities, either using their existing skills or learning new ones, while enjoying the benefits of being part of a social group.

As with all ‘sheds’, the members will decide what activities they want to do.

The Lions Club of Winslow are trying to get a Men In Sheds group off the ground in Winslow.

An initial meeting at Lakers Nursery in July was well attended, but the group is struggling to move forward, due to the lack of a shed or similar venue to meet in.

Anyone able to offer or suggest a venue should call Colin Bradford on 07954 369309.

The Buckingham group is being launched by Community Impact Bucks.

Find out more at an information event from noon to 2pm on Friday, November 14, in the Cote function room at The Woolpack, on Well Street.

A free sandwich lunch will be provided.

For catering purposes, please let Community Impact Bucks know you will be attending.
