Australian blues guitarist Geoff Achison, who is in the UK as part of a European tour, will complete a stunning musical line-up for the first gig at a brand new music venue in Towcester on Friday, October 4.
Renowned blues drummer Sam Kelly is playing at the debut gig atTowcester Live, a new music venue based at Towcestrians Sports Club in Greens Norton Road, Towcester.
Sam was voted British Blues Connection Drummer of the Year for five years running and was recently named in Blues In Britain magazine’s Gallery of Greats.
He has played with some legendary names, including Paul Jones, Robert Plant and the late, great Gary Moore
He will perform with his band, Station House.
Geoff Achison began playing professionally with his father’s dance band at the age of 13.
Two years ago he made Truefire’s ‘100+ Gifted Guitarists You Should Know’ list.
Promoter Crispin Slee said: “We are really lucky to have been able to attract two outstanding musicians like Sam and Geoff.
“It is a rare treat to catch them playing together, and they will be playing with an incredible band.
“It promises to be a fabulous night to launch the venue.
“The club has been transformed by a £250,000 extension and is now an incredible facility.
“We want to make the most of the new building and use it to the full by bringing really great live music to South Northants.
“There is nothing like it in Towcester at the moment.”
