A decision on the future of the proposed HS2 line is due to be made this week.

Transport minister, Justine Greening, could announce whether the controversial scheme will go ahead as early as tomorrow, Tuesday.

If approved, the link will pass through the heart of the Advertiser and Review region.

Although local campaigners have opposed the scheme, it has received support from business leaders and organisations including the British Chambers of Commerce.

See this week’s Advertiser and Review for full coverage, out on Friday.
