PEOPLE parking in the car park of Buckingham’s Well Street Centre found their windscreens leafleted yesterday, Thursday, with a notice saying the car park will be locked from Monday.
The notice said: “This car park will be locked from Monday, October 3.
“Please ensure that your vehicle is not on the premises on this date. You will not be able to access the car park from this date.”
But Bucks County Council has told the Advertiser it plans to leave the gates unlocked while it looks at insurance liability issues.
A spokesman said: “If we find we do need to lock the gates, we will reissue a notice to the immediate neighbourhood.”
A reader, who did not wish to be named, said: “I never parked there when the Well Street Centre was in use, because I wouldn’t have wanted to inconvenience the service users.
“But now there’s nobody using it, what’s the harm in parking there?”
