The inner workings of Parliament are the subject of a free lecture by MP for Buckingham and Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow.
Mr Bercow will track the changes since he took office, from the 2009 expenses scandal to today, at the free talk organised by the University of Buckingham at 6.30pm on Thursday, February 12, in the Chandos Road Building.
Mr Bercow, who was awarded an honorary degree by the university, said: “I have fought for enhanced scrutiny of policy, more opportunities for backbench MPs and select committees and a focus on diversity in Parliament as part of my role as Speaker.
“In my lecture I will track the modernisation process under my watch, from the nadir of the 2009 expenses scandal up to the present.
“I am delighted once again to be giving a lecture for the University of Buckingham and especially when it is celebrating the launch of the UK’s first independent medical school.”
Drinks and nibbles will be served after the talk.
