The University of Buckingham has paid tribute to Margaret Thatcher following her death today, Monday.

Baroness Thatcher, as the former Secretary of State for Education, formally opened the University College at Buckingham in 1976, becoming the university’s second chancellor between 1992 and 1998.

Vice-chancellor, Terence Kealey, said: “Margaret Thatcher loved the University of Buckingham and we loved her: the values of independence and integrity that she proselytised were the values by which the university was created.

“On behalf of the whole university I send her family our deepest condolences.”
