A 47-year old woman is recovering after being knocked unconscious following a fall from her horse near Towcester this week.
The rider who was taking part in a training run for the Grafton Hunt hounds fell just outside Foxley near Blakesley.
She was airlifted to hospital but the hunt’s honorary secretary Phillippa White said the rider was back home the same day.
The Warks and Northants Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called at 10:52am on Tuesday, September 17, and landed at the scene 20 minutes later.
A spokesman for the WNAA said: “The patient had lost consciousness and had sustained a head injury.
“She required immediate transfer to the nearest Major Trauma Centre.
“WNAA paramedics immobilised the patient before flying her to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment.”
