AYLESBURY Vale is one of the best areas to live in rural Britain, according to a national survey.

The district is ranked sixth in the UK and second in the south east by the annual Halifax Rural Areas Quality Of Life Survey. The national study looked at the performance of local authority districts in terms of employment, the housing market, the environment, education and health, to determine the overall quality of life.

Leader of Aylesbury Vale District Council John Cartwright, Leader of the Council, said: “This survey confirms what everyone who lives in Aylesbury Vale already knows – we live in one of the best parts of Great Britain.

“There are of course many factors which make up this kind of assessment, but we believe that great quality public services play an important role in any area.”
