A GUIDE to accommodation in Bicester and Cherwell district was launched recently.

The 2012 holiday and short breaks guide for north Oxfordshire is produced by Cherwell District Council and is supported by advertising from local industry. The aim of the guide is to attract visitors to the area and guide them on the best ways to spend their time here.

It will be distributed nationally through the Tourist Information Centre network and at motorway service stations and visitor attractions.

Eight per cent of all jobs in Cherwell are supported by tourism expenditure, which was worth just under £66 million to the local economy in the last year.

Alongside the dedicated website, visitnorthoxfordshire.com, there is now an app which can be downloaded free from the app store on iTunes – just search for North Oxfordshire Official Visitor Guide.

Councillor Nicholas Turner said: “As a north Oxfordshire resident I’m passionate about promoting the area.”
