POLICE diversions were in place on the A413 between Buckingham and Whittlebury this morning after a car hit a tree.

The single-car accident was reported shortly after 7.30am.

A 28-year-old woman was freed from a silver Renault Megane by firefighters and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by ambulance.

Diversions were reportedly still in place at around 10am while the car was removed and oil was cleared from the road.
