Young driver in life-threatening condition after crash

Police have appealed for witnesses to a collision on the A422 near Water Stratford that has left a young man with life-threatening injuries.

The 22-year-old was injured after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree between 9.30pm and 9.40pm on Wednesday, August 14.

The silver BMW saloon was travelling away from Westbury towards Buckingham.

Firefighters cut the injured man out of the car using hydraulic rescue equipment and he was taken by ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the BMW travelling in the area prior to the crash, to contact investigating officer PC Claire Greene via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
