Buckingham Town IIs began the second half of the league season with a resounding win against Wallingford.
Cameron Emerson captured an early wicket but a partnership of 82 between Carey (82) and Denton (28) looked to have set up the visitors for a big total.
The all-round skills of Ben Stafford (5-57) and a brilliant run out then saw Buckingham fight back as four wickets fell for just 14 runs, leaving Wallingford to finish on 214-8.
Town’s run chase proved to be a formality as a Steve Brunning (114no) batted superbly to compile back-to-back unbeaten centuries.
Brunning was well supported during the innings by useful contributions from Mike Taylor (27), Harry Martin (13), Ben Stafford (30) and Russell Thompson (16no) as Buckingham won by seven wickets.
However, the IIIs team were beaten by three wickets against Cropredy.
Kevin D’Silva (28) and Adam King (22) top scored in Buckingham’s 150 all out, which was chased down by Cropredy with three wickets to spare. Frank Johnson (2-19) and Richard Pengelly (3-43) were the pick of the bowlers.
