Charlton enjoy trophy final win over Rangers

CHARLTON & District’s season ended on a high note as they edged Grendon Rangers Reserves 3-2 in the Division One Trophy final.

Tydeman, Knight and Cox netted for Charlton, while Garlick and Thornton were the Grendon hitmen.

In the Interdivisional Trophy semi-finals, there was more disappointment for Grendon as their first team lost 3-2 at Loughton Manor, Hankers and Perna scoring for Rangers.

In the other semi-final, Potterspury narrowly accounted for Stoke Hammond Wanderers 3-2.

Premier Division leaders Thornborough Athletic are only a point clear of MK Wanderers Reserves after a 2-2 draw at Potterspury.

Brackley Sports are out of the running for this year’s honours but still managed a close 3-2 home success over MK Titans, Prescott grabbing a brace, with Carpenter also on target.

Intermediate Division leaders Great Horwood are closing on the title after drawing 1-1 at Steeple Claydon, Dixon the Horwood scorer.

Second-placed Brackley Sports Reserves thumped Hanslope 5-1 while Syresham went down 2-1 at home to Celtic MK.

In Division One, tabletoppers Potterspury Reserves slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Marsh Gibbon, Render hitting a double, with Brighton also netting.

Grendon Rangers Reserves won 2-1 against Syresham Reserves.

Division Two saw a thrilling 6-5 win for University of Buckingham against Wolverton Town.
