Dabinett Moon was due to run in Saturday's meeting at Whitfield

Christopher and Fran Marriott’s game little mare was a runner in the feature race, the Kehoe Contractors Ltd Mixed Open. Dabinett Moon had won six of her last eight starts in amateur races, including the Subaru Restricted Final at Stratford last May.

The recent rainfall has left the course too wet in places and the meeting will not be rearranged as there are no more suitable dates to reschedule this year. Despite the revised date, there had been 97 entries for seven races on the card.

There are two more fixtures this year at Whitfield, the Farmers Bloodhounds meeting on Sunday, April 24 and the Grafton Hunt meeting on Sunday, May 15.
